London – Day 9

Today was going to be the last day of my 3 day London Pass so I decided that I needed to ensure I got full value from it. My first port of call was going to be the Tower of London, which was nice and close.

After this I decided that I would head to South Kensington to look at the Science Museum.

Given that the Natural History museum is just around the corner and that I had never been inside I thought that I’d better give that a look as well.

I have to say that you could easily spend a day at both museums as there is so much to do and see in both. However, my choice would be the Natural History Museum as it just choc-a-block full of amazing exhibits. I only had a very limited time to view the museum but I was really impressed with what I saw in that short space of time. If I ever manage to make it back here this will be one of the first place I come back to.

My final stop of the day was St Paul’s. Given that it was late in the day my first destination was the top of the dome which requires you to climb a significant number of steps and squeeze through some small passages. When you get to the top it is all worth it.

Unfortunately, you cant’ take pictures inside St Paul’s so all I could take are these shots from the top of the dome.

If you are at St Paul’s don’t forget to visit crypt below the cathedral, it has plenty of famous people buried there. Some of these include the Duke of Wellington, Nelson and Winston Churchill. If the crowds to get into the Cathedral are long use the entrance to the crypt instead, because you can still get to the cathedral from here.

As I headed back home (in the rain) I took this last picture of London for the time being as tomorrow morning I’m off to Paris by Eurostar.
