Ypres – Day 13

So today on the battlefield tour we head out for Ypres in Belgium.

First stop is the site of the recent recovery of the bodies of Australians from some recent discovered graves. The top photo is where they are making the recovery and the next photo is where they will be burying in a new cemetery.

We then headed to Fromelles.

First stop was the cemetery of VC Corner.

We then crossed the Belgium border where we stopped for a bite to eat.

This is the village of Passchendale in the distance from Tyne Cot cemetery.

A stop at the largest Commonwealth cemetery, Tyne Cot was the next destination which you can see from the pictures above. The final stop for the day would be Iper and the Menin Gate.

Finished off the day with some Belgium chocolates and cappuccino, which were excellent, in the town square overlooking the cloth hall.
